Introductions
Character’s Name Northernlight
Age ∙ 34 Moons
Gender ∙ She Cat
Residing/ Ranking ∙ RiverClan / Deputy
Mindset
Overall Personality ∙ Northernlight and her brother Freezingwind are balance of each other. Where as Freezingwind is like the fire of the two, Northernlight is the cold, stoic ice. She disregards everything as lower then her and has a very short temper. She is also a vain cat and will completely flip if you ruin her coat in any way, shape or form. The violent streak within her was formed from years of isolation within her own clan. Many cats wonder why she was made deputy, mostly to keep her in line and chained to the clan. Being deputy is also a deterrent for other clans that is rather effective.
Northernlight has no real ambition for power and couldn't care less to be leader but she still loves RiverClan. They took her and her brother in despite their blood lines and housed them. All the training and hard work she has done was all for her clan, and deep within her there is no way Northernlight could ever truly betray her clan.
After the incident with Swanpaw, Northernlight cares for cats very little and doesn't allow any cat close to her besides her brother.
Reflection
Overall Appearance ∙ Backstory
Family ∙ Father-Hound (Loner)
Mother-Brightivy
Brother-Freezingwind
Birthplace ∙ RiverClan territory
Background ∙ Brightivy had made a terrible mistake when she mated with that loner Hound. She was a proud warrior of RiverClan and the daughter of a famous warrior in the clan. As a result of having such a father, she was greatly suppressed within the clan, always though of being the "innocent and sweet" daughter. After years of such treatment the she cat decided to break away from camp for a little breather. That was when she ran across Hound and had fallen for the handsome tom. The two spent a passionate night together before parting ways, leaving Brightivy with kits. Brightivy panicked, not wanting her father to find out so she enlisted the help of her friend to help her hide the kits. The plan didn't work.
The day Brightivy was giving birth far away from RiverClan camp, Brightivy's father had wandered by and heard her screams of pain. He ran to her aid only to find her with two new born kits. He was furious. He took the kits from Brightivy and told her that she was no longer welcome in RiverClan.
That was how Northernkit and Freezingkit were brought to RiverClan as outcasts.
The two kits were reluctantly raised by a she cat named Lillyflower, along with her own kits: Petalkit and Minnowkit. The four kits got along fairly well, but Freezingkit and Northernlight stuck together more then they did with the other two kits. the knew they were kin and all they had left in the world. As did the clan. They knew the kits' heritage and scorned them for it before they had even become apprentices. When they did become Freezingpaw and Northernpaw, their mentors were not happy to train them, but did so out of duty, not love. Freezingpaw and Northernpaw had become fierce warriors, trying to appease their clan, trying to make themselves useful to the clan. In their efforts to become better and better warriors, the two siblings started to become more and more bloodthirsty as well; trying to prove themselves in every battle by killing. The clan grew to be afraid of the two apprentice, to a point where the medicine cat wouldn't heal them after battles. Inevitably, the two apprentices reach the warrior age, earning them the name Freezingwind and Northernlight two infamous names in all the clans.
Still the two siblings felt all alone in the clan, often healing each other of a fierce battle where they tried to do their best only to be seen as monsters by their own clan.
Things didn't change for the two until their twenty third moon of living. A new medicine cat apprentice was named, a she cat by the name of "Swanpaw". She was instantly taken with Freezingwind and Northernlight. She admired them for their fighting prowess and constantly "pestered" them when she wasn't training. Northernpaw wasn't fond of Swanpaw but Freezingwind warmed up to the young she cat rather quickly.
The cats of RiverClan would tell Swanpaw that she was making a mistake by talking to the two bloodthirsty warriors but she never abandoned the two. Northernlight soon started to have some grudging respect for the medicine cat apprentice when she became the only cat who would heal them after their battles.
This didn't last. During one battle, Swanpaw had been sent to take care of the injuries so cat could go straight back into battle or send them back to camp. As usual, Freezingwind and Northernlight were cutting through the battle like storms. One cat decided to target Swanpaw while she was working on patient. In the struggle, Northernlight spotted the fight and raced to help her friend but was too late to help Swanpaw.
For the next few days Northernlight was barely ever in camp, rather stalking the borders looking for a fight from the other clans. When she did get into a fight she would fight like she was possessed by a Dark Forest cat. Eventually the leader couldn't stand for such behavior any more and gave Northernlight the option of leaving or becoming the next deputy. Northernlight was very tempted to leave, but decided to stay so her brother didn't have to suffer alone.
Now at the age of 34 moons, Northernlight stands as a powerful deterrent against other clans.

Northernlight sat glaring at the cat above her in the High Tree, the leader of RiverClan to be exact. Northernlight's thin tail flicked once, a sure sign of annoyance from a usually stone-still she cat. Despite sitting in the comfort of her own camp, the RiverClan deputy felt claustrophobic, trapped from all sides. It was like an itch that just couldn't reach and it made her lungs feel constricted. The feeling most likely came from the rank she held in the clan, deputy, a "honor" she did not want. Her leaf green eyes swept over the sea of RiverClan cats at the base of High Tree, all their eager eyes drinking up the leader's words like some dehydrated fools.
Northernlight resisted the urge to roll her optics, instead she focused on the one pair of eyes that were not looking at the leader, but rather at her. The cat grinned when he caught her eyes and twitched his whiskers as if to say 'Relax'. The black she cat flicked her ear sending back the clear message saying 'Not likely to happen'. The tom chuckled, his eyes matched Nothernlight's as the flickered to the sky to check the position of the sun. He wrinkled his nose when he noticed it had not seemed to move at all since he last checked. Freezingwind's shoulders slumped at the prospect of listening to the leader for longer than a few moments. Nothernlight watched her brother bat his paw at a bug crawling over his paws.
Nothernlight was dragged out of her thoughts forcefully when a cat let out a hiss to get her attention. Her eyes looked up to meet the leader's eyes lazily. The RiverClan leader stood with all the superiority of a mouse in front of the she cat as she looked her over distastefully.
"Organize patrols." Was all the leader meowed before dismissing her.
Nothernlight scoffed to herself silently before padding over to her brother, shouldering past a few cats as she did. The tom grinned at his sister's bad mood and bumped into her comfortingly.
"Shouldn't you be used to that by now, North?" He asked teasingly, but wrapped his tail around her own to show his true concern behind the phrase.
"You're right," She replied emotionlessly, squeezing her brother's tail.
"I should be."Contract
