There was snow everywhere. On the ground, on the trees, on top(or in) the dens. Harsh winds blew about, snow flying about in the air as it fell heavily to the ground. The blizzard had just begun, and it was certainly something that would make it into clan history.
Mintleaf, Skykit, Moonkit:
Mintleaf gazed around, looking at the snow that flew all around her. She wrapped her tail protectively around her kits. "Don't fret, dear ones. Starclan is watching over us." Skykit looked up at her with wide, scared eyes,his fur fluffed up against the cold. Moonkit looked around fretfully, "Are we going to die, mother? Is this the end? Will we die before we even become apprentices? I don't wanna die! I'm cold! I'm hungry! What's going on??" Mintleaf looked at Moonkit, her eyes calm, "We aren't going to die, dearest. I told you, Starclan is watching over us." She brought her kits close to her, keeping them warm.

Froststar:
Hoping everyone was okay Froststar ran out of her den and into the clearing. The clearing was full of cats going every where also the snow was comeing down hard. The dens where being covered by snow fast and she new she had to do something. Looking around she gave commands to warriors and anyone else she saw. Gowing from one den to the next she saw there was snow in all of the dens except for hers. The nursery and medicen cats den was not as bad but it was going to fill with snow soon. Deciding to move the kits and queens she called a few warriors toward her and led them into the nursery. Blinking she saw mintleaf with her kits, "Hello Mintleaf, kits, you get to go and spend some time in my den ok?" She said looking them over. Seeing the kits where scared she tried to make them feel better. "My gosh kits you to looks so calm just like a warrior! You both are so brave and strong you can bet that some apprentices are probubly worried sick but not you two. Come on now lets go she said nodding to the warriors to help with the kits.

The snow, which had began so peacefully, so elegant and quiet, daily drifting down from the blissful white clouds, had now transformed into a full on blizzard. Its vicious winds ripped and tore all about slamming debris and snow into everything. The wretched and nightmare-ish noises of it all pelted down upon the land and struck its terror into each and every heart of those trapped in its grasp.
Mysticfog awoke with a clump of snow slamming into her pelt. She rolled over and jumped to her feet with a shock and froze for a second. What's going on? How long has this storm been going on for? Oh dear, many will get hurt... oh my, are my herbs OK?[/I]She gave a quick glance at her herbs and saw they were all right, but wouldn't be for long. She quickly shoveled the snow out of her den and dug a ramp at the entrance of her den. She raced out onto the heavily covered clearing.
She glanced around the empty clearing and saw through the heavy snowfall many cats panickly awakening in their half collapsed dens. She realized her den was in best shape. She began to panic again though. Hoe could she help best? She had to act fast. Suddenly she saw froststar leading the kits and queens into his den. Ovecoarse! She needed to get the cats into safe dens like hers and the leader's.
She raced into the elders den and hussled them as best she could into her den. She dashed back outside and saw the blizzard was getting worse. " oh starclan help us!" She yelled despratly to the sky. She took a deep breath. She had to concentrate. She ducked into the warriors den. " Half of you, come with me!"

Mintleaf looked up at Froststar as she entered the den, "Froststar" she greeted, her voice smooth but brimming with worry, "Is everything alright?" When she heard that she was to go to her den with her kits, she nodded and tried to look excited, "You hear that kits? We get to go to the Leader's Den, what fun!" Mintleaf stood up, and helped her kits stand and walk to Froststar's den. "I'm cold." Moonkit moaned again, moving gingerly and slowly as she struggled to move through the cold snow. Skykit leaped about, his worry erased at the prospect of being able to go to the Leader's Den. Mintleaf bent down and picked Moonkit up gently by the scruff, carrying her into the den. She made a nest for her and her three kits and curled up in it, protecting her kits as best she could against the cold.

Northernlight took a moment to watch the sky, or as much of the sky as she could see through the heavily falling snow. Her bright eyes narrowed fruitlessly trying to see if there was some end to the clouds, but there was none. "Come on North! Stop staring and start digging!" Came her brother's voice a few fox lengths away. He was digging furiously in the place where the fresh kill pile was supposed to be, hoping to salvage some food. The black she cat nodded her head and quickly joined her brother.
Freezingwind sighed in relief when he felt his paws scrap against the silvery scales of fish that a warrior had caught just the other day. He picked up the fish, a mouse and a shrew in his jaws and carried them over to the leader's den. Ignoring Froststar, Freezingwind smiled at Mintleaf and kits. "Despite my name, I must say I hate the cold!" He joked lightly before turning more serious. "North is getting some moss from the apprentice den and warrior's den. Mysticfog's den is most clear as well, so we can house some of the warriors in there as well as here." The tom reported, aiming the last part at Froststar.
At that moment the sleek form of Northernlight glided into the den, moss clamped tightly in her jaws. The deputy dropped the moss in front of Mintleaf with a small nod of acknowledgment at the kits. She turned her luminous eyes to Froststar as Freezingwind padded over to his sister's side. "The storm is just starting, but as far as I can tell its only going to get worse. We don't have much prey to keep us alive for a few days, if it does come to such a situation. I suggest Freezingwind and I make a final run for prey before it is too late." She meowed emotionless, but her green eyes were focused on the shivering kits. |

Watching Mintleaf and her kits get settled Froststar heard the noise of someone entering the den. Turning around she noticed freezingwing with some fresh kill. "Good we need all the moss we can get for everyone." she replied just as she saw northernlight entering the den. After hearning Northernlight report she thought. "Well first things first we need everyone in the dens with the least ammoount of damage." Nodding to freezingwing "Get the apprentices to make sure the elders are safe." Then turning and nodding to northernlight "Can you seperate the warriors and apprentices send some here and some to the medicen cats den. After all of that is accomplished then you both may go out with the strongest warriors you can find and get food. Dont take aprentices."
Leaving the den Froststar searched the clearing for Mysticfo. Running up to her she saw how paniced she was. "Mysticfog, I need you to go to your den and make room for as many cats as possible. Freezingwind and Northernlight will tell everyone else what to do." She said staring into the cats eyes, "How are your supplies I sure hope your not low on any herb. If you are low on something you think you need and you think there is a possibility it still has a supplie alive outside camp you may take one warrior and check." Looking around she trotted off to settle the aprentices down.

Mysticfog nodded. She raced to her den and quickly began cleaning up. She took all the herbs lying around and stored them, then inspected her supplies. She had a decent amount of every herb, but only a average amount of feverfew. If it hadn't been such terrible weather, she'd get more, just incase the cold brought a spread of the flu as it often does. But it was too dangerous to go out now, she'd be endangering her life and whoever she took with her. She'd have to hope her tash would be enough to hold off till the storm stopped. She sighed and raced up to the leaders den. " Froststar, my dens cleaned out and can hold a good amount of cats. I have enough herbs, so what should I do?" She reported.

Mintleaf smiled gratefully at Northernlight for making that joke, seeing as it seemed to calm the kits. Skykit laughed, and Moonkit atleast smiled. But the smile looked extremely groggy, and Moonkit looked rather tired. The kits looked up when Northernlight, and tried to listen to what she was saying. But Mintleaf spoke to them instead, not wanting to frighten them with the news that she knew Northernlight was delivering. "Isn't this fun kits? We get to sleep in a new den!" Skykit nodded, but Moonkit just sneezed. Then she sneezed again. Mintleaf looked at her sharply, worried, Did she catch a cold? Oh no, he couldn't! Not with her being so tiny! The little kit was hardly big enough to play, so how would she be able to survive a cold? She feverently put a paw to her forehead, to see if she had a fever. Her pelt was scorching hot. "Mintleaf," she whined, "it's getting colder!" she sneezed again, and began to shiver. How had this cold sprung up so suddenly? Moonkit sunk to the floor, her eyelids fluttering shut as her breathing began to get more shallow. "Mysticfrog, Mysticfrog, Moonkit has a cold!" she cried out frantically, while Skykit looked at his sister in horror.

Northernlight narrowed her eyes at the thought of having to wait to leave camp but nodded her head any way. She bounded past the leader and into the clearing to take in the situation. She spotted a few apprentices and called them over. In a few brisk words the apprentices were running off to check on the elders. Behind her she could hear Freezingwind talking to a few warriors, telling them to go either to the nursery or the leader's den.
With that done, the black she cat bounded to the camp entrance and waited for her brown pelt brother.
"Shouldn't we round up some more help before we leave?" Freezingwind meowed right in his sister's ear so she could hear him.
the black she cat glared at the tom. "We don't need their help just to find some food." She snapped irritably before sweeping regally out of the camp. Freezingwind hesitated for a split second before following his sister out of camp without a glance back. |

Mysticfog looked down at moon it at mintleaf's yell. " Calm down mintleaf. The worst thing we can do is panic. We have enough herbs to treat her and everything will be fine as long as it doesn't spread." She said calmly and confidently, not taking her eye off moonkit. She gently put her paw on her pelt. It was warm.
" moon it, how are you feeling? Do you feel hot, cold, nautious?" She asked.

Mintleaf nodded, beginning to calm down. Moonkit looked up at Dreamshimmer, "Cold,"Moonkit sneezed, "And nautious." another sneeze. "Why is it so cold?" Skykit bounded over to Moonkit, "Are you okay, Moon?" he croaked, looking at her with a worried expression. Mintleaf pulled him away with her tail, "She's fine." Mintleaf purred, trying to sound reassuring, "She just caught a cold.We can't have you catching one too." She nosed Skykit into the nest, before turning to Moonkit, "You'll be warm soon." she promised.

" perhaps it we warm her up enough the cold will go away. But i will get some herbs just in case." She ran down and got some feverfew and ran back up. " OK, moon it, I need you to eat this. It taste nasty but you'll feel so much better later." She coaxed the kit. She began to stroke the little kit's pelt in attempt to get some warmth in.

Mintleaf nodded, running a tail along Moonkit's flank soothingly. Moonkit layed down, shivering but feeling slightly warmer then before. When the herbs were placed before her, she ate them without complaint, too tired to resist. One she had swallowed the last bit of herbs, she curled up in a tight ball, slowly drifting off into sleep.

She laid her paw on the kits head as she fell asleep. The kit was having a much better temperature. " She's all ready getting better, she'll heal very quickly." Said mysticfog with a gentle smile, looking up at mintleaf. " Just tell me if her symptoms get any worse. Feel her every now and then to make sure she's not too hot or too cold."
She turned around to face froststar. " I'll be on my way now. I'll be in my den if you need me." She walked out.
