Mindset

Overall Personality ∙ Cloudchaser is a very confident and bright tom cat. He always has a goofy grin on his face and willing to make any cat laugh. He is a social cat who can start a conversation with just about any cat that he meets. The only times you really see Cloudchaser serious is if you mess with his baby sister or his secret (or so he believes, it is rather obvious) love interest, Dreamcloud. Cloudchaser is a strong believer in destined love which is what he think he has with Dreamcloud so he chases after her relentlessly.

Despite the typical image of a ShadowClan cat being all dark and mysterious, Cloudchaser has strong morals and believes there is a right and wrong and equality between all cats. Though he fears the powers the StormClan cats have, he believes the way the other Clans treat the StormClan cats is wrong.

Background ∙ Hazestone and Larkfeather were just your average ShadowClan apprentices, in the beginning. The two didn't really know each other because they hung out with different cats, there weren't two more different cats in the clan to be honest. One day there was a great storm that flooded the apprentice den and Hazepaw and Larkpaw were stuck in the den, trapped by branches and mud. With the last space of air, Hazepaw dove down into the murky waters and manages to rip apart enough of the branches to create an opening. The water quickly poured out leaving a nearly dead- Hazepaw and amazed Larkpaw. The two quickly became close after that experience and after they became Hazestone and Larkfeather they became mates.

The adored couple soon gave birth to two kits, Cloudkit and Splashkit. The love the mates shared spread to the kits and soon the family was a tight-knit group. Cloudkit and Splashkit got along better then most siblings did and they enjoyed teaming up against their parents and "hunting" them.

Before Cloudkit's and Splashkit's apprentice ceremony, Hazestone took the two kits out to the two leg place while explaining the warrior code. Being kits, Cloudkit and Splashkit started playing and accidentally strayed away from their father and ended up on a Thunder Path. Suddenly, a monster came out of no where and headed right for the kits. Noticing his kits in danger, Hazestone ran in front of his kits and tried to push them out of the way. The monster hit Hazestone full on and killed him instantly, the car then just barely by passed the kits and hit a near by tree. The monster burst into flames as the two kits watch in complete horror.

Splashkit was the first to react and tried to run to her fathers aid but the fire spread and got onto her face and paws. Yowling, Splashkit tried to douse the flames but they just didn't go away. Urged by his sister's cries of pain, Cloud kit jumped on Splashkit, using his body like a blanket to smother the flames into nothing. Quickly he made sure his sister was okay before rushing to the car to find his father. Before he could reach the car he was tackled to the ground and dragged away by a ShadowClan warrior and brought back to camp.

The two kits were in shock as they were brought to the medicine cat to be treated. As Cloudkit wasn't hurt as bad he was treated by the medicine cat apprentice, Dreampaw. Cloudkit was quickly cured and named Cloudpaw for his efforts to save his father, but Splashkit wasn't so lucky. She survived with burns to her face and paws and had to stay in the medicine cat den for a few moons to make sure she was completely cured.

When she was named an apprentice, she gained the name "Burntpaw". While Burntpaw was recovering in the medicine cat den, Cloudpaw spent a lot of time in there with her to help keep her spirits up as she recovered. It was over this time that Cloudpaw came to know Dreampaw and soon fall in love with her.

A few moons later, with his sister cured and his apprenticeship well under way, Cloudpaw finally felt his life settle. Well, as settle as it can be being a cat in love with a future medicine cat who was oblivious to his feelings. Cloudpaw worked extra hard during his training sessions and made sure to get hurt as often as possible to increase his time with Dreampaw.

Soon enough, Cloudpaw was named a warrior along with his sister and given the name "Cloudchaser" (ironically enough, Dreampaw was given the name "Dreamcloud) and his sister was named "Burntfur".

Sample

Cloudchaser watched with his luminous green eyes the sleeping lump of fur next to him which was his sister Burntfur. She had been complaining the other day that her burns had been bothering her, so happy with the excuse to visit Deamcloud again he went along the she cat. It was late in the evening now and Dreamcloud had long since taken care of her burns and told Burntfur to get some sleep in the medicine cat den. Being the good brother he was, he stayed with her in case something went wrong. The white tom lay his head gently in his sister's familiar fur and inhaled her calming scent. A purr escaped his throat as he closed his green eyes, basking in the rare moment with his sister. With all that had been going on with StormClan, ShadowClan had kept the warriors busy and kept the siblings separate.

Cloudchaser's ears flickered as he heard Dreamcloud come back into the den from where ever she had been. He opened his eyes and watched the medicine cat carefully. He was going to speak with her when he heard his sister groan softly in her sleep. Instantaneously his head snapped back to her, worry in the depths of his eyes. He looked at Dreamcloud for a moment longer before laying his head back on his sister and resuming his calming purr. While Cloudchaser loved Dreamcloud, he cherished and loved his sister even more, and she came before anything else, even his own destiny.
